NGX hits record highs as Dangote Cement rally lifts the market

The NGX All-Share Index rose 1.65% on Monday 26 October and 1.07% on Tuesday to 253,990.06 points. Market value reached a record N164.97 trillion on 29 October. On Tuesday, 36 stocks fell and 20 rose, so gains were narrow. The index slipped about 0.07% on Friday 30 October to around 253,894 points.

• DANGCEM (Dangote Cement Plc) +40.59%: Dangote Cement shares hit a record high on Monday, pushing its market value above N20 trillion for the first time. By Thursday, BusinessDay said the stock had again made it the most valuable firm on the NGX. Separately, a report on 28 October said the company posted a nine-month profit of $714 million. (source)
